A label was treated as a measurement
S, M, and L are names, not universal dimensions. The purchase should reference points of measure and the intended fit for the specific garment.
The measurement method changed
Half chest, body chest, relaxed waist, stretched waist, straight length, and contour length are not interchangeable. A diagram and written method keep comparisons aligned.
The material or process changed the garment
Knit relaxation, washing, heat, finishing, and decoration can affect dimensions. Required shrinkage or wash testing must be agreed for the selected fabric and use.
Prevent the complaint before cutting
Compare an existing garment, review the product-specific chart, approve the physical sample, test representative sizes, and freeze one final roster.
