THREAD-BASED DECORATION

METHOD 01

Custom embroidery with a clean, built-in feel.

A durable, dimensional finish for logos, crests, names and compact brand marks on structured garments.

DIRECT ANSWER

Is embroidery right for your teamwear?

Embroidery is often a strong option when you want a premium, long-lasting logo on polos, caps, jackets, vests or heavier sweatshirts. It uses colored thread stitched into the garment, so the result looks dimensional and feels integrated rather than printed on top.

Choose another method for photo-like artwork, very large solid areas, extremely fine text or lightweight fabric that may distort under dense stitching.

FIT CHECK

Where embroidery works—and where it does not.

BEST FIT

Choose it for

  • Company logos and club crests that need a polished appearance
  • Left-chest, sleeve, cap-front and small back-neck placements
  • Repeat uniform programs where durability matters
  • Simple artwork with clear shapes and solid thread colors

CONSIDER AN ALTERNATIVE

Not the first choice for

  • Photographs, smooth gradients or artwork with many tiny details
  • Large, dense back designs that would feel heavy and rigid
  • Very light stretch knits without a successful sew-out test
  • Waterproof shells when needle holes or seam sealing are a concern

BEFORE WE SPECIFY IT

Four factors that shape the result.

01

Fabric stability

Piqué polo, fleece, twill, softshell and cap fabrics usually support stitches well. Thin jersey and high-stretch fabric may need lighter stitch density, backing or a different method.

02

Artwork construction

Artwork is digitized into a stitch file. Letter height, line weight, fill direction, border width and negative space all affect whether the mark sews cleanly.

03

Logo size and placement

Compact placements are the sweet spot. Seams, pockets, zippers and curved cap panels can reduce the usable embroidery area or require a placement adjustment.

04

Order economics

Digitizing is typically a setup step for approved artwork. Whether an existing file can be reused depends on the unchanged logo size and specification; production cost also reflects stitch count, quantity, garment access and personalization.

KNOW THE TRADE-OFFS

Limitations to plan around

  • Thread colors are matched from available shade cards rather than printed as exact CMYK values.
  • Very small text and thin lines may need to be enlarged or simplified.
  • Dense fills can pucker lightweight fabric or make large designs uncomfortable.
  • A physical sew-out is the reliable way to judge density, registration and small detail.

CARE GUIDANCE

Help the decoration last

  1. Wash inside out on a cool or warm gentle cycle with mild detergent.
  2. Close zippers and hook-and-loop fasteners to reduce snagging.
  3. Do not bleach; air dry when practical or tumble dry on low.
  4. If ironing is needed, use low heat from the reverse side and do not press the embroidery face directly.

Always follow the garment care label and the final approved decoration specification.

Compatibility is conditional: the exact fiber, construction, coating, color and placement still need review.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Answers before you order.

Can you embroider a very detailed logo?

Often, but very small text, fine outlines and gradients may need simplification. We review the artwork at its intended size and confirm a sewable version before production.

Does embroidery work on waterproof jackets?

It can, but stitching creates needle holes. The shell construction, membrane and required weather resistance must be checked; a transfer may be safer for some waterproof garments.

What determines embroidery price?

The main variables are stitch count, finished size, garment access, order quantity and whether individual names or numbers are required.
